Ummm....

OK I need some major motivation today. Both kids are out of school, and it's not looking like a wonderful day. Ayden is feeling sick, the house is a wreck ALREADY, there's laundry, dishes, and who knows what else to do, and this mama is TIIIRED.

updates

Well, it's been too long....whoopsy. I'm suffering from insomnia tonight, and can't find anything else to do that won't make any noise. I can hear the poor boys in their room coughing off and on. They both have had a cold for almost a month now. I think maybe they keep passing it back and forth, yuck.

So if you look at the new format for my blog, you'll see the lovely picture of our family, that looks like it was taken by a pro...but it wasn't! It was me! (I'm very proud, can't you tell?) I actually convinced Adam to go out to Stoney Creek Park in Goldsboro and take some family pictures! Yay me! Even though I'm sure the $200+ sticker price at the Wal-Mart photo place, which I'm assuming is the cheapest around, helped to convince him too, I'm just going to keep on thinking it was my charming ways (snicker snicker......). Anyway, I've been wanting to take family pics for a long time, and HOW they got done is no matter. So there. :)

What's Going On With Us You Ask? Well, here ya go!

So I can't sleep. Actually I haven't tried that hard :) There are so many more interesting things to do instead of sleep.....scrapbook, clean, you know....fun stuff! I'm really excited about our (well, mine and the kids, Adam has to work) trip next week. Every year Leah (my sister) and I, and our kiddos of course, get together for a "sisters" outing. The past 2 years have been at a KOA in Bristol/Kingsport TN, but this year, we were going to scrap it because of the fact neither one of us has any money. Well, my awesome sister went ahead and made reservations without asking me, and I am SOOO glad she did! This never would have happened if it weren't for her, so, Leah, you rock, I love you so much, you're the best sister in the entire world. Seriously.

We'll be going to a KOA in Harpers Ferry, WV. I don't think I've ever even stopped in WV, except maybe passing through to get gas or take a potty break. It should be really fun.

Adam should be getting his deployment orders anytime now, most of the guys in his shop got theirs this week, and he wasn't included in that group, but he says he expects to get them soon. He is really itching to go and have a new experience, which I can't say I'm happy about or agree with, but I CAN understand. He's the only person in his shop who hasn't deployed, and if it were me, I'd probably feel the same way. I know a lot of his family doesn't understand that, and that's ok, we just all have to be supportive (I guess!).

Anthony will be starting kindergarten in about 3 weeks, and he's getting really excited, he keeps asking, am I going to school TODAY? Ayden will start going to a program called Wee Wings for an hour or two ,two days a week, basically a mobile preschool classroom. He's not quite so excited, so keep your fingers crossed.....

It's Still Monday...

I'm doing better this week! Today actually went OK. I bought the kids a new shelf for their room, I was sick of their old one that was bright primary colors. I got one of those "utility like" shelves from the hardware section at Wal-Mart, filled it with green bins from Target, and called it a day! Once I'm finished I'll take a picture, right now it looks like a whirlwind went through their room because I also decided to get rid of some (and by some I mean A LOT) of their toys. I don't know how it happened, but they have accumulated so many toys.....they both got so excited as I was digging through the bottom of the toybox...Mom, I haven't played with THAT toy in forEVER! And that's how I explained to them that they needed to get rid of some toys and give them to some other kid who doesn't have a mountain like they do - when you don't even know what toys you have, it's time to go through them. I think they actually got it!

I think this week might actually be OK. I went to church on Sunday, which really helps me make it through the week. I hadn't gone for 2 weeks, one because everyone was so sick for a while, and two because Sue was here last week, and I'm not sure about her feelings about me taking the kids to church, so I decided to just avoid the subject altogether. I'm great at that.....groan.

So here's my weekly list:

1) finish laundry (yes, that was on my list last week....get over it, I did!)

2) finish boys' room

3) start doing weekly menu planning and checking out freezer meal ideas

I'm sure there's more I should be doing, but I'm tired and can't think of anything else. My pillow is calling my name.....I'm coming pillow!

The joys of taking naps with your children.....

Yeah, no. Not really. It's 2 a.m. and I can't sleep. Grrr. But, on the other hand, I have rediscovered my love for the Dixie Chicks music........ (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=25145572)
Yay. Anyway, off to bed to lay there and not sleep....
